    Medical Emergencies

    Any employee in the vicinity is expected to assume responsibility for administering emergency procedures at the time the situation occurs.

    • If the person is unconscious or severely injured:
      1. Call (or ask someone to call) 911 for assistance. Give the location and condition of the individual. Respond to any questions from the operator.
      2. Stay with the person until help arrives.
      3. Keep the individual still. Do not move him/her.
      4. After the person's care has been transferred to emergency personnel, fill out the NDSU Incident Report Form and be certain others who assisted also fill out a copy. Give the report to the Administrative Assistant within 24 hours.
    • If the individual needs non-emergency assistance:
      1. Contact Campus Police (1-8998) or contact someone designated by the person to assist in seeking medical care on their own.
      2. Fill out the NDSU Incident Report Form and be certain others who assisted also fill out a copy. Give the report to the Administrative Assistant within 24 hours.
