    Web Committee

    Draft

    Purpose

The purpose of this committee is to gain functional and content feedback from stakeholders so that the site continues to meet their needs. At the same time, this committee—under the direction of the Web Support Specialist—is to produce quick, clear, and decisive actions regarding the website.

    Function

The NDSU Library Web Committee will govern all aspects of the NDSU Library website. Its charge is to make sure that the Library website:

    1. maintains a consistent look and feel
    2. is organized intuitively
    3. is maintainable

    Vetting Criteria

Content will be accepted for inclusion in the Library website, provided that it:

    1. is novel and unique, not duplicated elsewhere
    2. has someone committed to its continual maintenance
    3. conforms to the standard look and feel

    Membership

    The committee will consist of:

    • 3 content creators from within the Library should we explicitly state "including at least one Librarian and one staff member"?
    • one faculty representative from the University Senate Library Committee
    • the Library's Web Support Specialist

The Library's Web Support Specialist chairs this committee. The Chair has the authority to make final decisions regarding the look and feel of the website and general organization of the site, should the rest of the committee fail to reach a consensus. We need some info on terms: lengths, staggered, etc.

    Meetings

The web committee will meet once per semester as arranged by the Chair. The bulk of discussions and decisions should be carried out via electronic mail and/or other collaborative electronic methods (e.g., wiki, group decision software, etc.).
