Staff Training for Emergencies

The Library will prepare itself to respond promptly and in an organized manner to any emergency situation within or immediately adjacent to the building.

The Library encourages permanent employees to be trained through an appropriate approved agency in the proper use of the emergency procedures, such as first-aid/life saving skills and fire extinguisher usage. To help achieve this goal the Emergency Task Force organize, conduct, or coordinate routine training activities. On a yearly basis the Task Force will offer all staff training in:

1. Evacuation procedures
2. Fire Extinguisher use
3. General life saving techniques: CPR, Heimlich maneuver, etc.
4. Techniques to handle common medical emergencies (seizures, diabetic shock, falls, etc.)
5. Personal defense and safety
6. General wellness day
